Listen to Spinndrift!
|
Folk Festivals Spinndrift have performed at festivals across the U.K., last year playing a 45 minute set to 600 people as support to Faustus on the main stage at Sidmouth Folk Week. Spinndrift concerts consist of a variety of traditional songs, tunes and self-penned material. Spinndrift like audiences that sing along and encourage active audience participation. If there is space, and depending on the venue-size they also perform single-jig morris dances.
Spinndrift are also a Ceilidh band and are happy to run ceilidhs at festivals.
The members of Spinndrift all hold enhanced CRB disclosure and can offer workshops or tuition in: melodeon, fiddle, oboe, flute, whistle, cello, voice, storytelling, morris dance, molly dance, broom dance, ceilidh dancing, ensemble and group work and choir/group and harmony singing. Spinndrift are happy to run workshops for children or adults for people of all abilities.
Spinndrift also do children's shows: a shadow play to music which they are happy to perform at festivals. They have all the equipment to perform the show, all that is required is a plug socket, a dark room and a PA depending on the size of the room.
Spinndrift are currently working on a new children's show based around musical sound effects and theatre devices which involves even more audience participation. There are also a set of workshops that can be run alongside this show, in preparation for it.
Three members of Spinndrift also perform a 20 minute story which is suitable for children and adults.
